Products and Services

At Sky, we want to ensure our products and services are accessible to all our customers and viewers.  We provide services such as subtitling, signing and audio-description; and through an active research and development programme seek to understand how assistive technologies and products can improve access.  In 2007 we developed an accessible remote control which helps our visually impaired customers with its larger and bolder graphics, increased colour contrast and raised contoured buttons.  It also has two alternative easy-grip features to aid customers with dexterity problems.

We also provide a dedicated Accessible Customer Service team of over 100 highly trained staff who answer over 6500 calls from disabled or vulnerable customers each week.  Customers can choose to contact the team by phone, textphone, fax or email, and the helpline is open 7 days a week.

You can find out more about our accessibility services on our dedicated accessibility website - www.sky.com/accessibility (opens in a new window) -  where customers can also listen to an audio version of the Sky magazine, view weekly TV listings and find information on the programmes that carry subtitles, signing and audio-description.
