Managing Responsibility

What responsibility means for Sky

The Bigger Picture is about understanding that a successful business has to be a responsible business: that good profits go hand-in-hand with good business practices.  It’s about making sure we are transparent in the way we make business decisions and run our business; and that we have processes in place to ensure that all of our activities as a business are done with reference to treating our customers, suppliers, employees, the environment, and the wider community fairly, honestly and with respect.

Our Bigger Picture Approach July 2010 (PDF opens in a new window - file size 39KB) provides a framework for our activities in the UK & Ireland, and our operations across the world.

Whose responsibility?

Everyone who works for Sky has a role to play in ensuring we are a responsible company, and we work hard to make sure all of our people are seeing the Bigger Picture every day.  This commitment to doing the right things for our business and its stakeholders is driven by our Chief Executive, Jeremy Darroch.  Last year, he introduced Ways of Working (PDF opens in a new window - file size 36.61KB) to help all our people understand how to behave at work.

The Bigger Picture Team

We have a team of people whose day job it is to make sure our commitment to doing the right thing is understood and delivered throughout the business.   This team is also responsible for delivering our great art, sport and environment programs.  Please see The Team page for more details on who we are and how you can contact us.

We also have a Bigger Picture Committee, a formal committee of the Board, which meets twice a year to review our Bigger Picture strategy and activities, make sure they are aligned with our business values and priorities, and drive our aim of doing the right thing throughout the business. The Group is chaired by Gail Rebuck, a non-executive director of the Board.
