Try to get a work placement or part-time job in your chosen field. You’ll meet people in the industry and who knows where it might lead ...?
Knock on as many doors as possible, use all your contacts and don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.
Keep up to date - read magazines, newspapers and industry publications and check out websites.
Set yourself a goal, then start working towards it one step at a time.
Be nice to everyone, you never know who is going to become important.
