I am George Bland, I work for Movies production and I am a programme maker.

The best thing about working at Sky is the people that work here and the support that they give you, and I suppose being encouraged just to try something maybe slightly different.

It is quite difficult to describe a normal day because it is very varied, but generally I go out and do some interviews, do some screening, go to edits, go on set.

At the moment I am working on a project called The Inconvenient Truth, which is all about Al Gore's tape/slide project [on global warming]. I have been to see the film already and then interviewed Al Gore. Then I will take those elements into an edit suite and package a fifteen-minute programme out of that, which I then deliver to the guys to go on air.

The best thing about my job is interviewing people, the opportunity to meet film talent and just discuss movies with them, it is just amazing.

If you want to work in TV then that is what you have got to do and I think you might have to work really hard to get where you want to be, but you can get there. It is a bit of cliché but you have to be interested in what you are doing, you have to be a bit of a team player and good communicator; it is integral to your being good at your job, I think.
