Sky and Schools
At Sky, we want to help young people be the best they can be. We’ve put together a package of free schools programs, focusing on raising young people’s aspirations and developing their life skills.
Across the UK
Reaching out to young people through the power of our brand, we have developed a suite of programmes open to all schools which inspire young people through sport and encourage young people to take practical action to tackle climate change.
Sky Sports Living for Sport
Sky Sports Living for Sport is a free initiative that uses sport to motivate and inspire young people between the ages of 11 and 16 across the UK. Schools get access to online planning tools, receive free sports kits and are visited by one of our team of Athlete Mentors.

Sky Rainforest Rescue
Sky, WWF and Global Action Plan have joined forces to help save one billion trees in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, and now schools can register to help too. Our Sky Rainforest Rescue Schools Challenge is launching in September and already more than 500 schools have signed up. Aimed both primary and secondary pupils, the Schools Challenge includes free teacher resources, support from Sky volunteers and an interactive website that helps pupils track their changes and get rewards for their progress.

Near our sites
Osterely - We’re working in partnership with local secondary schools in the London Borough of Hounslow. To support young people in their career choices, we offer work taster days and a paid work placement scheme to local young people. Sky volunteers and BTCV, one of our volunteering partners, help schools become more sustainable through projects that improve the use of school grounds. We’re also talking to teachers, to find out how best Sky can help, such as looking at how we can provide mentors for students at Hounslow Manor School.
Livingston, Dunfermline and Uddingston - In Scotland we work with Fife Coast and Countryside, the New Caledonia Woodlands Trust, BTCV and Global Action Plan to develop school grounds, and our people have volunteered in fifteen schools this year alone to help out with the hard work. Projects have included building raised beds and plastic bottle greenhouses for schools, and we’re always keen to hear from schools who would like to improve their outdoor areas. We also support young people by introducing them to the world of work with a range of different activities, for instance Balwearie School students studying Standard Grade Administration are being invited to find out about our office environments and our recruitment processes to support their course.
