Energy Monitor Competition

Wattson limited edition energy monitor

Win a designer Wattson Energy Monitor

To celebrate Earth Day (22nd April 2009) Sky has collaborated with acclaimed fashion designer Richard Nicoll to produce a special edition Wattson model, which will not only make a stylish addition to the home but also help you save money and reduce your energy consumption.

Created by UK design collective DIY Kyoto, their clever Wattson device will help you understand how much energy you are using in and around the home at any one time and how much it’s costing you. But how does it work . . .

How it works

Wattson needs to be connected either to the mains electricity cables from your home to the meter box or to the fuse box.  Once connected, the display will show you how many watts either in pounds or in electricity that your home is using at any one time.

On the underside of the monitor a series of coloured lights will show you how much energy you are using by turning a different colour. It monitors your usage to get an average so when the light turns blue you are using less energy that normal, when it glows purple you are using the average amount for your home and when it glow red it means that you are using more electricity than usual.

Richard Nicoll’s catwalk collections have received high praise in recent years since his first collection was shown in 2005. Born in Britain and raised in Australia the designer graduated from Central St Martin’s college, before working with fashion houses including Louis Vuitton alongside Marc Jacobs.

He is now considered one of London’s most talented young designers and was named “Best Young Designer” at the recent Elle Style Awards.

Usually retailing at £99, we are giving away the Richard Nicoll limited edition Wattson to celebrate Earth Day.
