Support from Sky

Sponsorship

Sky has sponsored English National Opera since 2003 and the Sky Arts season runs until 2009. This is one of the largest and longest running sponsorships of an arts organisation in the UK.

As well as the traditional opera repertoire like Mozart’s Don Giovanni or Verdi’s La Traviata, Sky is particularly keen to support and nurture ENO productions that are contemporary and reach new audiences. We do this by enabling ENO to present new work or to forge new collaborations with different artists.

This work is then presented as the Sky Focus production each year. In 2009, the Sky Focus production is Kaija Saariaho’s opera, L’Amour de loin. This combination of physical theatre and modern opera follows a 12th century troubadour’s search for love across a constantly changing theatrical landscape and features a melding of acrobatics and opera in a major new production of this work for English National Opera.

Through our sponsorship we support every production in ENO’s season and we are proud to be associated with one of the UK’s largest and most significant arts companies.
