Sponsorship

Sky sponsored English National Opera between July 2003 and July 2009. This was one of the largest and longest running sponsorships of an arts organisation in the UK and in total, more than 83 productions - 50 of them new to the stage -were staged over that time.  And a million people went to enjoy them.

We also made ENO available in millions of Sky homes, with behind the scenes documentaries of key productions and the world’s first live simulcast of la bohème -  where audiences could enjoy watching the live performance both from behind the scenes and live on stage.

Sky Seats Extra

We worked together in other ways too, Sky Seats Extra offered reduced price tickets to thousands every season and we were core funders of ENO Baylis, which works with more than 11,000 people a year in activities with schools, families and communities as well as training aspiring young singers.

We’ve learnt much together over the six years and, today, we are using those lessons to bring even more of the arts to more people, whether that be on stage with English National Ballet, on screen with Sky Arts Ats, on the streets with One & Other and even to a field at Hay with the Hay Festival.  We will continue to supprt the rich cultural landscape of the UK and to make the arts as accessible to as many people as possible.
