National Tour sponsor, Sky Arts treated the VIP crowd of ballet lovers to an excerpt of English National Ballet’s Swan Lake filmed exclusively by Sky at the Greenwich painted hall in Spring 2009. Sky will launch the UK’s first 3D service in 2010.

English National Ballet’s Christmas party has quickly become a firm favourite in the winter social calendar, with guests including Princess’s Beatrice and Eugenie, Emma Thompson, Cherie Blair, Will Young and Vivienne Westwood.

Adult Dance Workshops with English National Ballet

To celebrate Sky Arts’ continued sponsorship of English National Ballet’s National Tour, we offered adults a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a member of the English National Ballet with a free ballet class plus free tickets to watch Giselle, part of the National Tour.

These special events, which were open to anyone over the age of 18, allowed people to get an insight into life as a dancer, and enjoy an English National Ballet performance.

From Chester to Southampton, 11 Ballet classes took place across the country, at which over 200 people learnt the ballet basics, from the Torendux to the Rond de Jambe. After the class, it was time for the attendees to relax and take their seat in the auditorium as the experts at English National Ballet took to the stage.
"It was a wonderful insight - thank you for the opportunity" (Participant, from Bristol)
